As part of the EU4YOUTH2ACT project, a new Self Reflection Tool has been launched, designed to help YOU assess and enhance your civic engagement skills! The self-assessment tool allows you to reflect on your strengths and areas for growth, guiding you towards active participation in societal matters and democratic processes.
Creative Collaboration
Developed by the EU4YOUTH2ACT project team with the lead of Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile and the support of Emphasys Centre, this tool is aimed at empowering young people across Europe. By offering a structured approach to self-assessment, it enables them to reflect on their civic, social, and personal competencies. The tool is based on the Civic Activation Competence Framework, which was previously developed to help shape the way young individuals engage with their communities and participate in democratic processes.
The Self Reflection Tool was created to encourage young people to take an active role in their communities and broader societal issues. By allowing users to evaluate their own abilities and identify areas for improvement, the tool fosters personal development. This, in turn, equips young people to become informed and engaged citizens capable of contributing to local, national, and European-level decision-making.
What purpose does it serve?
The Self Reflection Tool serves as a vital component within the forthcoming EU4YOUTH2ACT mobile app, which will allow users to create a personal profile. This profile will be built through a step-by-step procedure that assesses users’ knowledge of key European issues and tools for civic engagement. The tool will guide young people in forming connections, participating in debates, and accessing resources designed to help them become social actors of change.
Additionally, it will facilitate individualized learning plans in the form of reports, tailored to the user’s personal experience and civic engagement level. These reports will encourage further development and provide pathways to deepen involvement in their local and national communities.
Test yourself!
You will be able to get involved by signing up through the EU4YOUTH2ACT mobile app once it is released. After creating a profile and completing the Self Reflection Tool, you will be grouped based on your status, background, and interests, enabling you to connect with like-minded peers.
For now, you can assess yourself using the Self-Reflection Tool and see which areas you are confident in and where you might need improvement. Take this opportunity to reflect on your current understanding, and identify the places where you’re unsure of the answers, helping you grow into an active and engaged citizen.
